"Natural" ingredients?

What's with advertisers? I've seen this commercial for Maple Leaf ham a few times, and recently, I took my exception to its content out on my other (better?) half. She took exception to me taking my exception out on her. Ack. Now I'll have to eat crow (instead of Maple Leaf's yummy, "natural" ham).

Marriage is broken

Maybe I should qualify that a bit: Marriage as an institution as practiced by the majority of Canadians - and maybe Americans - is broken.

Marriage as an institution is broken. Period.

Statistics show that well over 50% of marriages are disolved at some point. If the definition of marriage includes "till death do us part", we - at least western societies - have voted with our feet - or lawyers, er, I digress...

ABC's

Please advise technician if you may be 'pregnant'I spotted this in our local hospital. Did the author of this sign not know the meaning of the word pregnant and was attempting to convey that they weren't sure that it was the correct word? Boys and girls, that's what dictionaries are for.

Feed Ann Coulter to the *educated* masses

Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I should say I'd consider myself a slightly right-leaning moderate (i.e. I try to actually think about issues before venturing opinions).

Health care in the US

Who would you rather have be accountable for your personal health care provision:

  1. The general citizenry
  2. Private health care providers (i.e. pharmaceutical companies, private hospitals, etc. that are accountable only to their shareholders)

To quote Arsenio Hall: "Hmmm..."
